| 表面の説明 | The upper portion of the field features a stylized, textured relief panel depicting handwritten manuscript lines in cursive script, evoking the literary works of Finnish author Juhani Aho. Flowing decorative lines reminiscent of a fish tail or reed extend from the lower right of the panel into the open field, referencing Aho's celebrated nature writing. The denomination '10 €' appears in the lower left field, with the legend 'SUOMI FINLAND' arched along the lower rim. To the right, the date '2011' is inscribed vertically, accompanied by a stylized comma or punctuation mark, alluding to Aho's literary identity. The overall design is executed in a modern artistic style with strong contrast between the textured relief and the mirror-polished proof field. |

Juhani Aho (1861–1921) was the first Finnish-language novelist to support himself entirely through writing, and his 1884 novel Rautatie — a spare, quietly devastating account of two elderly peasants encountering a railway for the first time — remains a cornerstone of Finnish prose. This coin was issued as part of Finland's ongoing commemorative program honoring figures central to the national cultural awakening of the late nineteenth century.
The .500 fineness is notably low for a commemorative silver issue, a cost-control decision that became increasingly common in Finnish commemoratives from this period onward.
