Obverse description Conjoined busts of King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair. The legend JUAN CARLOS I Y SOFÍA arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by small lozenge stops, while ESPAÑA 2004 appears along the lower border, similarly punctuated. The portrait style is naturalistic and unadorned, consistent with Spanish royal coinage of the period.
