Stylized column capitals and interlaced stone carvings derived from the Trani Cathedral's interior decoration frame the central numeral. The inscription ITALIA DELLE ARTI curves along the upper portion of the reverse, while the year 2018 and mint mark R appear along the lower field. Additional information

Trani Cathedral was begun around 1097 and constructed in stages over two centuries, its position directly on the Adriatic waterfront making it one of the most geographically distinctive Romanesque structures in southern Italy. The building's integration of Byzantine, Arab, and Norman influences reflects the political succession of powers that controlled Apulia during the Norman and Hohenstaufen periods — Trani itself served as a significant port and administrative center under Frederick II.

This issue is part of the ongoing Italian Arts series, which assigns a separate release to each of Italy's twenty regions. Puglia's inclusion came relatively late in the rotation.
