Obverse description Central field depicts an ancient Greek trireme under sail, rendered in fine relief with detailed oars and rigging visible along the hull, set upon stylized waves. To the upper right of the vessel appears the numeral '10' encircled by a wreath, serving as the denomination indicator. The legend '10 ΕΥΡΩ' appears in the lower portion of the field, and the inscription 'ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ' runs around the upper periphery within a beaded border. The entire design is framed by a decorative rope-pattern border, evoking the maritime heritage associated with Herodotus and the ancient Greek world.

Reverse description A finely modelled bearded bust of Herodotus, the ancient Greek historian, occupies the central field, facing slightly to the left in three-quarter view, with naturalistic rendering of his hair and full beard in high relief. To the left of the effigy, the Greek legend 'ΗΡΟΔΟΤΟΣ' descends vertically, accompanied by the dates '484-425 π.χ.' indicating his approximate life span. The mint year '2018' and a small mint mark appear to the right of the bust. The design is enclosed within a classical meander (Greek key) border, reinforcing the Hellenic cultural theme of the issue.
