Malta's Gothic architecture coinage series documents the island's medieval ecclesiastical building stock, much of which survives in parish churches built or expanded under the Knights of St. John following their arrival in 1530. The Knights transformed Malta's built environment aggressively, and the local Gothic strain — absorbed before their tenure through Aragonese and Sicilian influence — left its imprint on doorways, windows, and vaulting that outlasted the Order itself by centuries.
