| 正面铭文 | 10 EURO REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH 2020 |
| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a knight of the Order of St John, shown in three-quarter view from behind, wearing a draped mantle bearing the distinctive Maltese cross, engaged in negotiation with a seated Eastern merchant at a market stall. The merchant, turbaned and robed, gestures expressively across a table bearing trade goods including a ceramic jug and scrolled documents. In the left background, a harbor scene with lateen-rigged sailing vessels and a domed cityscape evocative of the medieval Levant are rendered in fine detail. The entire scene is framed by a beaded border and executed in the high-relief engraved style characteristic of the Austrian Mint's Knights' Tales commemorative series. |

Part of Austria's "Virtues and Vices" series, this issue pairs with a corresponding bronze-aluminum piece struck for the same theme — a dual-metal release format the Austrian Mint developed to reach both collector and general circulation markets simultaneously. The silver version was produced in a limited mintage with a proof-like finish and sold direct through the mint.
Fortitudo as a cardinal virtue has roots in Platonic and Thomistic philosophy, which gives the series its thematic backbone.
