| Obverse description | A detailed architectural view of the Hall of Supreme Harmony within the Forbidden City occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with terraced staircases and ceremonial courtyards receding in perspective. Above the palace facade, a large mythological dragon is depicted in high relief, its head prominently centred at the top of the design, flanked by swirling clouds and scaled body coils that frame the entire composition. The French legend '600 ANS DE LA CITÉ INTERDITE' arches across the upper portion of the palace roofline. At the lower centre, an oval cartouche bears the Chinese characters '紫禁城建成600年' above the monogram 'RF', with the date '2020' inscribed to the lower left in the field. |
