| Obverse description | The obverse features the Maltese coat of arms at center, depicting a shield charged with a white George Cross on the dexter and vertical red and white stripes on the sinister, surmounted by a mural crown with five towers. The shield is flanked by two olive branches tied at the base. Beneath the coat of arms, a scrolled ribbon bears the legend REPUBBLIKA TA' MALTA in raised Latin lettering.
