正面描述 The obverse, designed by Helmut Andexlinger, depicts the ancient art of falconry as practiced within the grounds of the medieval Landskron Castle near Villach, Carinthia's second largest city. A falconer is shown with a bird of prey in a detailed scenic composition set against the castle backdrop, rendered in a high-relief illustrative style. The upper legend reads REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH, with FALKNEREI and the denomination 10 EURO appearing alongside the date 2012, and the designer's initials TP positioned in the field.

附加信息

Austria's nine-province commemorative silver series, launched in 2004, assigned each federal state a dedicated issue. Carinthia's 2012 entry came at a politically charged moment — the province had spent years in a bruising legal and political battle over bilingual topographical signs in Slovene-speaking municipalities, a dispute rooted in the 1955 State Treaty obligations Austria had quietly ignored for decades. A constitutional settlement was finally reached in 2011, just a year before this coin was struck.

The .925 fineness used across this series is slightly below the more common .999 or .900 standards, a specification chosen to improve die life during minting.
