Austria's nine-province commemorative silver series ran from 2013 to 2021, with each Land receiving a dedicated issue. Burgenland, the youngest of the nine provinces, only joined Austria in 1921 following a plebiscite — and even then, its intended capital Sopron voted to remain in Hungary, forcing the new province to establish Eisenstadt in its place.
The .925 standard used across this series is fine sterling, a deliberate step up from the .800 alloy common in earlier Austrian commemoratives.
