Obverse description The portrait of sculptor Frédéric Bartholdi is depicted in the upper left field, with his name 'FRÉDÉRIC BARTHOLDI' inscribed vertically alongside his effigy. To the upper right, a representation of the Statue of Liberty under construction serves as the central artistic motif. At the lower portion of the coin, the outline map of the Alsace region is rendered in relief, accompanied by the initials 'RF' (République Française) above it. The regional name 'ALSACE' is inscribed along a scroll at the base of the design.
