| Opis rewersu | The reverse depicts an elaborate Art Nouveau-style decorative ironwork grille in relief, occupying the left and central portions of the field, evoking the theatrical aesthetic of the Belle Époque. Superimposed over the lower-right section of the grille is a coloured effigy of a bird in flight, rendered in vivid blue enamel and representing the titular Blue Bird of Maeterlinck's celebrated 1908 play. The dates '1908 2008' appear to the right of centre, commemorating the centenary of the work's premiere. The legend 'MAURICE MAETERLINCK' arcs across the upper border, while 'L'OISEAU BLEU · DE BLAUWE VOGEL' is inscribed along the lower periphery in French and Dutch. |
