Obverse description At centre, Godfrey of Bouillon is depicted in full martial regalia, clad in chainmail hauberk, plate armour, and a visored helmet, brandishing a battle axe in his right hand. Upon his surcoat and shield is displayed the Cross of Jerusalem, rendered in vivid color, identifying him as the first ruler of the crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. The heraldic composition frames the armoured effigy against a stylized background, conveying the chivalric and crusading themes of the series. The obverse legend arcs along the upper and lower periphery of the field, reading 10 EURO REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH 2019.

Reverse description The reverse depicts the chivalric ceremony of the accolade, in which a crowned king confers knighthood upon a squire kneeling before him in a posture of submission and devotion. The king is shown placing or lowering a sword upon the shoulder of the recipient, the defining gesture of the dubbing ritual as practiced in medieval European courts. The figures are rendered in a detailed, illustrative style evoking illuminated manuscript traditions, with period-accurate costume and court setting suggested by the composition. The scene commemorates the rites of chivalry central to the broader Knights Tales commemorative series issued by the Austrian Mint.
