| 背面描述 | The reverse is dedicated to Léon, Second-Master (Maître) of the Commando Kieffer, one of the 177 French commandos who landed in Normandy on 6 June 1944. The design commemorates his service in the liberation campaign, highlighting his participation in operations in the Netherlands, including the Walcheren amphibious landing and the capture of Vlissingen. The composition reflects his unit's continued engagement in raids and combat operations through to the German surrender, at which time the unit was stationed in the Netherlands. The legend 'PAYS-BAS 2025' appears in the field, identifying this coin as the Netherlands-themed issue within the series. |

The Liberation of the Netherlands in May 1945 was not a single moment but a weeks-long process, with Canadian forces bearing the primary responsibility for clearing German troops from the country after Operation Market Garden's failure had left much of the south liberated but the north starving through the Hongerwinter of 1944–45. That famine killed an estimated 18,000 to 22,000 Dutch civilians before surrender came. This coin is a French mint issue commemorating that anniversary — notable in that the Netherlands' own mint at Utrecht has issued its own commemorative series, making this a Monnaie de Paris product for the Dutch market rather than a domestic emission.
