| 背面描述 | The reverse reproduces in color a fragment of the painting The Annunciation, executed by Doménikos Theotokópoulos, known as El Greco, between 1597 and 1600, now held in the Prado's collection. The composition captures the characteristic elongated figures and dramatic use of light and color associated with El Greco's mature Mannerist style. The artist's identification legend EL GRECO is inscribed within the field. The color printing technique faithfully renders the painterly tones of the original masterwork, set within the squared format of the coin's flan. |

The Prado's bicentennial in 2019 prompted an extended commemorative program across multiple issues, each tied to a work from the permanent collection. El Greco spent the final four decades of his life in Toledo, never Madrid, and the Prado's holdings of his work arrived largely through royal collections assembled long after his death in 1614 — he had no direct relationship with the institution that would eventually become his most prominent institutional champion.
The .999 fine specification places this outside standard circulation silver, produced purely for the collector market from the outset.
