Padania has no legal existence. This piece was issued by the Lega Nord as a political prop during its push for northern Italian secession — a campaign that peaked in 1996 when Umberto Bossi theatrically declared independence on the banks of the Po river. The "Repubblica Federale Padana" never achieved any international recognition, held no monetary authority, and these "coins" circulated only as novelty merchandise and party paraphernalia. Collector interest is driven entirely by political curiosity rather than numismatic merit.
