| Obverse description | The obverse presents a half-length portrait of Slovak poet and writer Janko Jesenský in left-facing profile, with a facsimile of his signature positioned below the effigy. The field background is enlivened by overlapping sheets of paper bearing the titles of selected literary works: NOVELY, VERŠE, ZO STARÝCH ČASOV, MALOMESTSKÉ ROZPRÁVKY, and ČIERNE DNI. The Slovak coat of arms appears to the right of the portrait. Along the lower portion of the field, the country name SLOVENSKO and the date 2024 are inscribed horizontally on two lines. The mint mark of the Kremnica Mint, comprising the letters MK between two die tools, appears to the right of the signature, while the designer's initials MS, for obverse artist Martin Sabol, are placed to the left. |
