| Obverse description | A diademed and elaborately coiffed right-facing effigy of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands occupies the centre of the obverse, set within a raised diamond-shaped inner frame. Twelve five-pointed stars are distributed around the outer rim, echoing the European coinage tradition. The legend is divided across the four sides of the diamond frame, reading NEDERLANDSE at the top, ANTILLEN to the right, 1954-2004 at the lower right, and AUTONOOM at the lower left, commemorating fifty years of autonomy for the Netherlands Antilles. |
