| Obverse description | At center, the Brandenburg Gate is rendered in fine relief, its neoclassical colonnade and quadriga prominently depicted as an enduring symbol of German reunification. The motif is framed by the twelve stars of the European Union arranged in a semicircular arc above the gate. The mint mark appears in the lower field, with the year of issue inscribed to the left of the gate. The composition is the work of engraver Reinhart Heinsdorff. |
