| Obverse description | The obverse is struck in the shaped outline of the Asterix character in a triumphant pose with arms outstretched, the silhouette filled with an intricate pattern of Olympic sporting equipment and ancient Gaulish motifs in low relief. The state monogram 'RF' and the date '2024' appear prominently in the upper field, with the denomination '10 EURO' inscribed in large numerals and letters across the lower portion of the shaped flan. The copyright legend '©2024 LES ÉDITIONS ALBERT RENÉ' is incused along the base. The overall composition reflects the contemporary artistic style associated with the Asterix comic franchise. |

Issued to coincide with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, this coin is part of Monnaie de Paris's long-running Astérix series, which has periodically revisited the 1968 Goscinny and Uderzo album Astérix aux Jeux Olympiques as source material. The 2024 Games provided an obvious editorial hook — Paris hosting for the first time since 1900 gave the mint a rare alignment between the comic's Gaulish humor and genuine national occasion.
KM#3364 is one of several simultaneous Astérix/Paris 2024 issues, each assigned its own reverse composition.
