| 表面の説明 | The national coat of arms of Cape Verde is depicted centrally, comprising a circular shield bearing a triangle surmounted by a torch, set above three horizontal wavy lines symbolising the sea, all enclosed within a ring bearing the legend REPÚBLICA DE CABO VERDE. The shield is flanked by two olive branches tied at the base with a ribbon, and ten five-pointed stars arranged in an arc to either side. The denomination '10' appears prominently in the upper left field, with 'ESCUDOS' inscribed below it to the left, and the date '1994' running vertically along the left side of the field. |

The Carvalho — a traditional Cape Verdean working vessel derived from Portuguese colonial-era designs — represents one of the few remaining links between the archipelago's fishing communities and their Atlantic sailing heritage. Cabo Verde issued this coin series in the early 1990s as the country was consolidating its post-independence monetary identity, having separated its currency from the Portuguese escudo peg only in 1977.
KM#41 is nickel plated steel rather than the cupronickel used in earlier escudo issues — a cost-driven shift visible across many small island economies during this period.
