| Obverse description | Central device comprising the Portuguese armillary sphere overlaid with the Portuguese royal shield, which bears five escutcheons in a quincunx arrangement, each charged with five bezants, within a bordure of castles. The shield is surmounted by a mural crown. Flanking the central device are decorative floral ornaments. The legend ANGOLA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 10$00 appears in the lower field below the central device, all within a beaded border. |
