| 备注 |
The Escudo was Chile's currency from 1960 until 1975, when the Pinochet government replaced it with the Peso at a rate of 1,000 Escudos to 1 Peso — a ratio that speaks plainly to the inflation that had consumed the unit's value by the end of the Allende years. This 10 Escudo note falls precisely in that terminal period, issued across the political rupture of September 1973 and surviving into the currency's final months.
The blue/black serial designation distinguishes this from earlier printings of P#143 and reflects successive production runs at the Casa de Moneda as note demand outpaced normal scheduling. By the time this issue circulated, 10 Escudos was worth almost nothing in practical terms.
