Chile's escudo replaced the peso in 1960 at a rate of 1,000 to one — itself a signal of how badly the peso had deteriorated through the 1950s. The escudo then suffered its own collapse, eventually replaced by the new peso in 1975 at 1,000 escudos to one, completing a full cycle of monetary erosion within fifteen years.
P#142A sits near the low end of the escudo denomination range, a range that ultimately stretched to 10,000 escudos as inflation accelerated through the Allende years and into the military junta period.
