Above the central device, the crowned mural crown of Portugal with flanking towers surmounts the shield. The territory name GUINÉ arcs along the upper legend in large Latin capital letters, while the denomination 10$00 is inscribed in the lower field. Six small floral ornaments decorate the field on either side of the central device, and a beaded border runs along the coin's rim.
