The Bank of the Equatorial Territories is a fictional issuing authority. No such institution exists or has existed in central Africa or elsewhere — this is a privately produced novelty or fantasy note, not a circulating or legal tender instrument issued by any recognized sovereign or monetary union. Franck Medina is known in the collector market for producing elaborately designed polymer pieces marketed as "artistic currency" rather than genuine banknotes.
