| Obverse description | Full-length frontal figure of Heinrich von Galen, Grand Master of the Livonian Order, standing in armour and rendered in high relief. The Master holds a sword upright in his right hand and an orb surmounted by a cross in his left, conveying both martial and ecclesiastical authority. A decorative shield or tabard bearing a cross is depicted across the chest. The figure occupies nearly the full diameter of the coin, framed by a plain inner border. The encircling Latin legend reading HENRICVS · DE · GALE · D · G · M · LIVONI runs along the outer periphery, identifying the issuer as Heinrich von Galen, by the grace of God Master of Livonia. |

| Reverse description | Detailed depiction of the city gate and towers of Riga rendered in a Gothic architectural style, occupying the central field of the coin. The gate is shown with a large arched portal flanked by two prominent towers with battlements, characteristic of the medieval fortifications of Riga. Above the gate, two crossed keys — the traditional arms of the city of Riga — are displayed. The date 1557 appears in the upper field, divided around the central device. The surrounding Latin legend MONETA · NOVA · RIGENSIS runs along the periphery, proclaiming this a new coinage of Riga. |
