| Obverse description | Armored bust of Emperor Rudolf II facing right, depicted in high relief in the late Renaissance manner, with a full beard and naturalistically rendered facial features. The emperor wears an elaborately decorated ruff collar and an ornate cuirass with richly worked shoulder guards, reflecting the refined artistic standards of the Kuttenberg mint. The effigy occupies the central field, with a continuous Latin legend reading RUDOLPHUS II D G RO IMP S AUG H BO REX running along the full periphery. The portrait exhibits the fine engraving and bold strike characteristic of large multiple-ducat issues from this period. |

| Reverse description | Imperial double-headed eagle displayed with wings spread and talons visible at the base, each head surmounted by an individual crown, the whole ensigned by a large imperial crown above. The breast of the eagle bears a quartered Habsburg shield of arms, representing the dynastic territories. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the composition, with the date 1603 incorporated at the top of the coin, reading ARCHIDUX AUSTRIAE DUX BUR MA 1603. The entire design is executed in the bold, deeply struck decorative style typical of prestigious Bohemian multiple-ducat coinage of the early seventeenth century. |
