| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Mihály Apafi I, Prince of Transylvania, facing right, wearing an elaborately decorated breastplate and lace collar, his portrait rendered in high relief within the inner circle of the field. The effigy is depicted in the Baroque style characteristic of mid-17th-century Transylvanian coinage, with fine detail in the armor and clothing. The circumferential Latin legend runs along the outer border, identifying the ruler by name and title. |
