Obverse description Full-length effigy of Emperor Matthias II standing facing right in elaborate armour, holding an imperial sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left, within a plain inner circle. To the left and right of the figure, the crowned arms of Bohemia and Hungary are displayed as supporters. The surrounding legend reads MATTHIAS D.G. REX BOHE GER.M.N. in Latin characters distributed around the periphery.

Reverse description Crowned double-headed imperial eagle displayed with wings spread, bearing on its breast a complex heraldic shield of the Habsburg territories.
