| Obverse description | Draped bust of Lothair Francis of Schönborn facing right, wearing richly ornamented ecclesiastical robes with elaborate embroidery and a lace collar, his hair falling in long curls to the shoulder in the late Baroque fashion. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the drapery and facial features. The circular Latin legend reads LOTHAR FRANC D G A & EL M EP BAMB, denoting his titles as Archbishop-Elector and Bishop of Bamberg. The field is smooth and uncluttered, allowing the effigy to dominate the design. A finely beaded inner border separates the legend from the central portrait, while a dentilated outer border frames the entire obverse. |
