Reverse description The enthroned Virgin Mary, crowned and seated on a crescent moon atop billowing clouds, holds the Christ Child who bears an orb and sceptre; the composition is surrounded by a radiant glory with a star-studded crown above. The date 1707 is divided in the lower field beneath the clouds. The circular Latin legend SUSCIPE ET PROTEGE encircles the design, invoking the Virgin's protection.
