Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg, facing right, wearing an electoral cap and a fur-trimmed mantle adorned with a cross-charged decorative clasp, with a sword visible over the left shoulder and a sceptre held in the right hand. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine engraving capturing the elector's long hair falling to his shoulders. The encircling Latin legend reads in abbreviated form around the periphery of the field.
