附加信息	Ferdinand III issued these large multiple-ducat pieces in the final years of his reign, a period bookended by the catastrophic Thirty Years' War — which had only concluded in 1648 — and the ongoing financial strain of rebuilding Habsburg authority across a devastated Central Europe. Striking ten-ducat pieces in near-pure gold at Vienna was less about circulation than about dynastic display: these were presentation coins, given as gifts to ambassadors, military commanders, and foreign dignitaries. Ferdinand III died in April 1657, making the overlap year a terminus for this particular issue. Herrinek numbers 21–22 distinguish minor die variants within the type.
