| Reverse description | Ferdinand I depicted as an armored equestrian figure facing left, mounted on a caparisoned horse in full stride, holding an elaborate flag or gonfalon staff in his right hand. To the left of the horse, a large crowned heraldic shield bearing the Habsburg eagle and quartered arms is prominently displayed. The date 1522 appears in the lower exergual field beneath the horse. A beaded inner border separates the central design from the surrounding circular Latin legend: FERDINANDVS DEI GRACIA PRINCEPS HISPANIARV, proclaiming his title as Prince of the Spains. |
