The multi-quartered shield displays the heraldic charges of the duchy including rampant lions, a crowned lion passant, a wheel, and an eagle, flanked by decorative acanthus scrollwork. The mint master's initials H·B appear to either side of the shield in the field. The date 1·6·8·5· is positioned in the upper field above the helm, and the motto SOLA BONA QUAE HONESTA arcs through the lower portion of the legend within a beaded border.
