| Obverse description | A large cross pattée occupies the central field, its arms extending nearly to the inner beaded circle, with ornamental foliate details in each quadrant formed by the cross arms. A circular Latin legend surrounds the cross between two beaded borders, reading the king's abbreviated royal titles. The inscription begins at the top and runs continuously around the coin, referencing Christian IV by name and numeral, followed by his sovereign titles over Denmark, Norway, the Goths, and the Wends, together with his electoral and other dignities. |
