The effigy displays curly hair and a full beard rendered in fine detail, set within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding Latin legend reads CAROL : D : G : ARCH : AVST : DVX : BVR : COM : TIR, identifying the sitter as Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, and Count of Tyrol.
