| Obverse description | Draped bust of Prince-Bishop Charles of Austria, known as 'the Posthumous,' facing right, wearing elaborately ornamented ecclesiastical vestments decorated with applied bosses and foliate relief work. The effigy displays curly hair and a full beard rendered in fine detail, set within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding Latin legend reads CAROL : D : G : ARCH : AVST : DVX : BVR : COM : TIR, identifying the sitter as Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, and Count of Tyrol. The portrait is struck in the high-relief manner characteristic of early seventeenth-century South Tyrolean goldsmith work. |

| Reverse description | Central crowned coat of arms of Prince-Bishop Charles of Austria, flanked on either side by the mitred heraldic shields of the Bishopric of Brixen and the Bishopric of Wrocław (Breslau). The armorial composition is richly detailed, with the central achievement surmounted by a bishop's mitre and displaying the combined dynastic quarters of the House of Habsburg. The surrounding Latin legend names the issuer as Bishop of Brixen and Wrocław, with the date 1618 incorporated into the legend. The overall design reflects the dual ecclesiastical authority wielded by Charles as Prince-Bishop of both sees. |
