This is a restrike — or more precisely, a fantasy piece — produced in postwar West Germany during a boom in "coin jewelry" medals and bullion-adjacent gold issues marketed to collectors and investors wary of paper currency after two catastrophic inflations in living memory. Gustav Vasa, the Swedish king who broke with Rome in 1527 and nationalized church property to fund his treasury, never issued a coin of this specification. The "Aureus Magnus" denomination is a modern commercial invention with no historical monetary basis.
