Obverse description Draped bust of Ákos Barcsai facing right, depicted with a beard and period attire including an ornate collar, set within a beaded inner circle. The legend is divided around the portrait, reading D·G·PR·TR· to the left and ACHA·BAR· to the right, identifying him as Prince of Transylvania by the grace of God. The portrait is rendered in a naturalistic baroque style typical of mid-17th century Transylvanian gold coinage. Decorative foliate elements appear at the base of the portrait.
