| Obverse description | Draped bust of Ákos Barcsai facing right, depicted with a beard and period attire including an ornate collar, set within a beaded inner circle. The legend is divided around the portrait, reading D·G·PR·TR· to the left and ACHA·BAR· to the right, identifying him as Prince of Transylvania by the grace of God. The portrait is rendered in a naturalistic baroque style typical of mid-17th century Transylvanian gold coinage. Decorative foliate elements appear at the base of the portrait. |

| Reverse description | Central shield bearing the crowned arms of Transylvania, featuring the Transylvanian eagle, the seven castles of the Saxon cities, and the crescent moon with star, surrounded by an ornate baroque cartouche. The date 1659 appears divided at the upper left and right of the field. The circumferential legend, within a beaded border, reads PA·REG·HUN·DO·ET·SI·CO·, referring to the Prince's titles as Lord of parts of the Kingdom of Hungary and Count of the Székelys. A triple crown surmounts the shield at the top. |
