Obverse description Central to the design is an ornate baroque cartouche enclosing an oval shield bearing the bipartite coat of arms of Zürich — per pale azure and argent — flanked by two rampant lions serving as supporters. The dexter lion brandishes a raised sword in its right forepaw, while the sinister lion elevates a palm frond in the corresponding position, both rendered in high relief with elaborate baroque detailing. The peripheral legend arcs around the design in Roman capitals, with the denomination numeral '10' incorporated into the legend field.
