| Reverse description | A five-line Latin devotional inscription, BENE DICTVS SIT IEHOVA DEVS, with the date 1681 and denomination 10 DVCAT, is displayed within a richly decorated baroque cartouche framed by elaborate ribbon-tied curtains. The cartouche is encircled by a densely rendered wreath of foliage, fruit, and flowers in high relief, tied at the base with a ribbon bow and surmounted by a pair of spread wings. The entire composition is enclosed within a square-link border, giving the reverse a distinctly ornamental character consistent with the high-value presentation pieces of late seventeenth-century Swiss minting. |
