| 裏面の説明 | Central circular field features a leopard reclining at ease along the branch of a leafless tree, its body rendered in high relief with naturalistic musculature, facing right with alert gaze toward the viewer. Foliage from flanking trees fills the upper portion of the inner circle, providing an evocative savannah setting. The denomination legend TEN DOLLARS arcs along the upper periphery, while the silver content inscription 1 OZ 999 SILVER curves along the lower periphery, all in bold raised Latin lettering separated by the inner beaded border. |

Zimbabwe's archaeological ruins — the dry-stone enclosures built by the ancestors of the Shona people between roughly the 11th and 15th centuries — gave the country its name at independence in 1980, making them a politically significant choice for commemorative coinage. This 1996 issue appeared during a period of relative economic stability before the hyperinflationary collapse that would eventually render Zimbabwean currency worthless and force the Reserve Bank to abandon the dollar entirely in 2009.
