Reverse description At the center of the reverse, within a raised inner circle, a finely detailed coiled snake is depicted in high relief against a mirror-polished field, with the Chinese cyclical character 己巳 (Ji Si, denoting the Year of the Snake) inscribed above. Surrounding the inner circle, all twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac — rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig — are arranged in procession around the border. The denomination 10 DOLLARS is boldly inscribed along the lower arc of the coin.
