| Obverse description | The Arms of Singapore are depicted centrally, supported by a lion on the left and a tiger on the right, with a crescent moon and five stars on the shield. The arms are encircled by the country's name rendered in all four official languages — Malay (SINGAPURA), Chinese (新加坡), English (SINGAPORE), and Tamil (சிங்கப்பூர்) — arranged around the circumference. The national motto MAJULAH SINGAPURA appears at the base of the legend, and the date 1989 is inscribed below the arms in the lower field. |

| Reverse description | At the center of the reverse, within a raised inner circle, a finely detailed coiled snake is depicted in high relief against a mirror-polished field, with the Chinese cyclical character 己巳 (Ji Si, denoting the Year of the Snake) inscribed above. Surrounding the inner circle, all twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac — rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig — are arranged in procession around the border. The denomination 10 DOLLARS is boldly inscribed along the lower arc of the coin. |
