Reverse description A stylized rat, the zodiac animal of the Chinese lunar year, is depicted in a folk-art idiom at the centre of the field, rendered with decorative linear detailing on its body. The rat is surrounded by an ornate background of scrolling clouds, flowering branches, and leafy grain stalks in traditional Chinese decorative style. A Chinese character inscription (鼠) appears in the upper left of the field.
