| 裏面の説明 | The reverse features two confronted rats rendered in selective gold plating, their bodies covered with elaborate floral and foliate filigree motifs in the Chinese decorative tradition. The rats face one another at center, their forepaws nearly touching around a centrally inlaid green freshwater pearl. Stylized snowflake or rosette ornaments are placed between and below the animals. The legend 'YEAR OF THE RAT' curves along the upper border within a beaded inner circle, and the denomination '$10' appears at the base flanked by decorative scroll flourishes. |

Fiji has issued Chinese lunar calendar coins for export since the early 2000s, functioning almost entirely as bullion collectibles for overseas markets rather than circulating tender. The Reserve Bank authorizes these series primarily as a revenue mechanism — the coins are legal tender in name, but no one in Suva is spending them.
The Rat opens the twelve-year zodiac cycle, making 2020 issues the first in a new round for collectors who buy complete sets.
