Additional information

Singapore's Lunar Series coins are produced by the Singapore Mint under authorization from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, a practice that dates to 1981 when the first 12-coin zodiac cycle began. The 2011 Rabbit issue falls within the second such cycle, which ran from 2008 through 2019 — a deliberate recommitment to the series after it proved far more commercially successful than initially projected, with early cycle coins now trading well above issue price on the secondary market.

The two-troy-ounce format was introduced specifically to satisfy collector demand for a more substantial bullion-adjacent piece alongside the standard one-ounce issues.
